爱丽丝肯德里克, Professor of 广告, holds a Ph.D. in communications from The University of Tennessee, an M.S. in adult education also from The University of Tennessee, M.A. 和B.A. degrees in journalism from Louisiana State University. Prior to joining SMU, she taught in the graduate 和 undergraduate communications program at Marquette University, where she also served as women’s varsity tennis coach.

Kendrick has received research 和 teaching awards at the national, regional 和 university levels, including the AAF’s Distinguished 广告 Educator Award; the American Academy of 广告 Billy I. Ross Award; the Meadows Distinguished Teaching Award; Outst和ing 广告 Educator for AAF 10th District; the HOPE Professor Award; SMU Rotunda Yearbook Outst和ing 教师 Teaching Award, as well as awards from the Direct Marketing Association 和 the Milwaukee Business/Professional 广告 Association. In 2010 she was named a winner in the Best Practices in Teaching of Critical Thinking competition by the Association for 教育 in 新闻 & Mass Communication. In 2013 she was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the 广告 Division of the Association for 教育 in 新闻 和 Mass Communication.

Dr. Kendrick currently serves as co-editor of the Journal of 广告 教育. Her research in the areas of advertising account planning, advertising 和 public diplomacy, advertising content, advertising education has appeared in journals including the Journal of 广告 Research, American Behavioral Scientist, International Journal of Strategic Communication, Mass Communication 和 Society, Place Br和ing 和 Public Diplomacy, Journal of Services Marketing, 新闻 & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journal of 广告 教育. Results of her work also have been featured in publications including 广告时代, 《威尼斯人博彩》, Promotional Products Business.

She is co-author of a book entitled Successful 广告 Research Methods 和 another entitled 广告’s War on Terrorism: The Story of the U.S. State Department’s Shared Values Initiative, for which she was awarded the Great Minds Research 创新 Award by the 广告 Research Foundation in 2007. She served on the Research Advisory Council for the Corporation for Travel Promotion (now Br和 USA) in 2011. In 2000, Kendrick was awarded the $10,000 Carl Rosenfeld 教育 Prize for her research 和 writing on the effectiveness of promotional products.

An active member of the American 广告 Federation’s Academic Division for many years, Dr. Kendrick served as Chair for 1997-98. She was appointed in 2001 to the AAF’s Mosaic Advisory Council. She currently serves as a member of the National 广告 Review Board, in 2000 was selected as a judge for the 广告 Hall of Fame. She appears in the 历史 Channel’s A 历史 of 广告 documentary as a commentator about advertising research.

In addition to having received 和 managed numerous research 和 teaching grants, Kendrick also has served as a consultant for local 和 national organizations including Nike, Texas Instruments, 女人面包店, Legion 广告, Carrington Laboratories, The Richards Group, 达拉斯人力资源, Seccion Amarilla USA, American Cyanamid, Promotional Products Association International, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentists, 新闻papers First, Half Price Books, Avon Cleaners 和 Guaranty Federal Bank.
