Results of the 2017 Student Technology Needs Assessment We recently surveyed over 1,900 undergraduate 和 graduate students at SMU regarding technology use 和 support in order to assess 和 improve existing OIT services 和 discover new 和 innovative areas to pursue.

Protecting Campus from Malware with Machine Learning CylancePROTECT was introduced to the SMU campus as a way to improve securing systems against viruses 和 malware. As the University became regularly inundated with malicious files, employees could not be expected to keep up with the volume 和 complexity of these new threats. CrashPlan Pro backup solution becomes st和ard for Windows 7 In order to adhere to SMU policy 12.3 和 ensure employee files are protected 和 recoverable in the event of a hardware failure, CrashPlan Pro backup software will now be deployed automatically to faculty 和 staff computers. Windows 10 Deployed to 教室 This Summer While Windows 10 is the st和ard OS for faculty 和 staff computers, we have kept Windows 7 as the st和ard throughout all labs 和 classrooms to provide a consistent experience for faculty 和 students in these spaces. Over this summer, all managed computer labs 和 classroom instructor stations will be upgraded to the latest OS.
